Interview placements for models and musicians

An interview is a conversation a publication chooses to run. The job is to give an editor a reason to ask questions, and a subject who can answer them.

When an interview is the right ask

Interviews work when there is something to talk about that the reader does not already have: a first record with a point of view, a casting or campaign story that can be told without breaking someone else’s contract, a change in sound or look, a city, a craft detail. “Please interview me” is not an angle.

The work

  • Decide whether the piece should be a short Q&A, a conversation, or part of a larger feature.
  • Write a pitch that states the news and two or three questions only this person can answer.
  • Confirm you will actually do the interview if an editor says yes, including the format they use.
  • Review the pitch before it is sent. Claims you cannot stand behind do not go out.
  • If an editor asks for a bio, photos, or a private link, send the set you already cleared.

A music interview often sits next to a release. See press around a music release. A model interview is closer to a profile than to a casting call. Publicity for models separates those jobs.

What this does not include

We do not script both sides of a fake interview and shop it as independent press. We do not guarantee a host, a podcast network, or a live slot. If the only goal is a friendly conversation you control, that is your own channel, not a placement.
