The problem
Press for art is how a painter, photographer, designer, or other visual artist reaches people who do not already follow the studio. A grid of images proves the work exists. It does not give an editor a reason to assign a piece. Press for artists starts when there is a show, a new body of work, or a point of view a writer can check.
The work
We look for the news in the work: a first exhibition, a method, a city, a change in the pictures. Then we pitch editorial features, interviews, and digital press. The sending is media outreach. Arts desks when the story is the work. A wider desk only when the story travels past the studio.
A musician with a song belongs on press for music. A company with a product belongs on press for business. A model belongs on press for modeling.
What we will not do
We will not invent a show, promise a critic, or call a social post a review. If the pictures cannot be shared, or there is no story beyond “I make art,” we will say the pitch is not ready.
What is press for art?
A pitch to editors who write about visual work, shows, studios, or the artist. It can be a feature, an interview, or digital press. A post on your own account is not press.
Do you get press for artists who are not musicians?
Yes. Painters, photographers, designers, and other visual artists can be pitched when there is a body of work or a show an editor can describe. Musicians belong on the press-for-music page.
Will you guarantee a gallery review or a magazine feature?
No. Outreach asks the desks that fit the work. The editor decides what runs.
